Audition MusicPDF Format

The ministry of music offers unique opportunities for siblings and families to present special music and for instrumentalists to participate in the orchestra and instrumental ensembles at the 2008 ATI Regional Training Conferences. Through this ministry the conference attendees are uplifted and encouraged each year.

Special Music Auditions

Families or siblings may audition to share special music by selecting the music they would like to perform and sending a recording of their presentation to the IBLP music department. (See instructions below.)

Orchestra Auditions

Students may audition to play in the orchestras or ensembles by sending a recording of their performance of the audition music to the IBLP music department. (See instructions below). Please note a separate recording is required for each instrument/student.

Please download and print the copy of audition music that pertains to your instrument. (Note: we are not taking auditions for piano and harp.) Because correct timing is essential to playing in an orchestra, practice with a metronome before recording. You may insert one full measure of rest in place of any multiple measured rests.

Submitting Auditions

Your audition should be recorded on a cassette tape, CD, DVD, VHS (or VHS-C) videotape, or as an MP3 or WAV file. Please contact us before submitting a media format that is not listed. Auditions submitted in unapproved formats are not guaranteed consideration for this year's conferences.

Clearly label each recording with the following information. Be sure to label the recording itself and not just the outer container. (If you send a file by e-mail, include the information in your message.)

  1. Your name, home phone number, current e-mail address (Audition results will be sent by e-mail.)
  2. The year and conference you plan to attend (e.g., Sacramento 2008)
  3. Your instrument(s) (not applicable to family/sibling auditions)

Recordings submitted after the following deadlines are not guaranteed consideration for this year’s conferences:

  • For Big Sandy, Texas (April 29 – May 2), the postmark deadline is April 1, 2008.
  • For Nashville, Tennessee (May 27-30), The postmark deadline is May 1, 2008.
  • For Sacramento, California ((July 1-4), the postmark deadline is June 1, 2008.

Receiving Notification

After the appropriate deadline has passed and all of the submissions have been received and evaluated, you will be notified by e-mail whether or not you have been accepted. Please be patient, as this process does take some time.

Remember that we cannot accept everyone. Next year, we will begin the audition process again. A year of diligent practice can make a very big difference!
