Music Opportunities
...sharing in the ministry of music
The ministry of music offers unique opportunities for siblings and families to present special music and for instrumentalists to participate in the orchestra and instrumental ensembles at the 2013 ATI Regional Training Conferences. Through this ministry the conference attendees are uplifted and encouraged each year.
Special Music Auditions
Families or siblings may audition to share special music by selecting the music they would like to perform and sending a recording of their presentation to the IBLP music department. (See instructions below.)
Orchestra Auditions
Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the 2013 Training Conference Orchestra(s). Please carefully read and follow the instructions below:
Please download and print a copy of the audition music that pertains to your instrument (Note: We will not be auditioning for harp or piano.) If more than one part appears in the music, you may select the part that you can perform most comfortably.
Please record a CD, DVD, mp3 file, or WAV file of yourself playing the music designated for your instrument. (Please contact us before submitting another media form that is not listed. If an unapproved format is received, we cannot guarantee that it will be evaluated.) A separate recording/file should be made for each student in your family who will be auditioning.
Practice with a metronome. You may insert one full measure of rest in place of any multiple measured rests.
Please label each recording clearly with the following information. Please label the CD itself, not just the case that contains it. If you send a file via email attachment, please include the following information:
- Your name
- Your home phone number
- Your current email address — (Audition results will be emailed to you.)
- Your instrument(s)
- The year and conference you plan to attend (e.g., Sacramento 2013) — This is VERY important.
Send your recordings to the address below postmarked by the applicable deadline (see below). Please note these dates carefully. Recordings that are postmarked after these deadlines are not guaranteed consideration for this year’s conferences. Files may be emailed to:
- For Big Sandy, Texas (April 23–26), the postmark deadline is March 25, 2013.
- For Nashville, Tennessee (May 28–May 31), The postmark deadline is April 29, 2013.
- For Sacramento, California (July 2–5), the postmark deadline is June 3, 2013.
- For Indianapolis, Indiana (Jul 30–Aug 2), the postmark deadline is June 24, 2013.

You will be notified by email whether or not you are accepted into the orchestra AFTER the appropriate deadline has passed and all submissions have been received and evaluated. Please be patient, as this process does take some time. Remember that we cannot accept everyone into the orchestra. Next year, we will begin the audition process again. A year of diligent practice can make a very big difference!
