Q: Does ATI require testing?
A: The tests are not required, but are available for those who are interested.
Q: Which tests should I order?
A: Students should take the appropriate age/grade/level of the tests. They should not be tested in a different age/grade/level.

Q: How does the testing work?
A: To participate in standardized testing:
- Order your tests by the deadline for your testing session.
- Receive the test books, answer sheets (for grades 3–12), directions for the administrator, and testing instructions by mail.
- Administer the tests within the prescribed testing dates.
- Return the test books, completed answer sheets, and directions for the
administrator to the address below:

Q: How long does it take to administer the tests?
A: It is recommended that the tests be administered over a number of days.
- Recommended Schedule
- Grade 1: Three and a half hours of testing, take it in three or more days
- Grade 2: Five hours of testing, take it in three or more days
- Grades 3–8*: Six and a half hours of testing, take it in three or more days
- Grades 9–12*: Five hours of testing, take it in two or more days
*These grades may be tested together.
Q: Am I allowed to administer the tests to my own children?
A: Parents are responsible for reviewing
their state’s homeschool laws concerning regulations for standardized testing. We
recommend having someone outside of the immediate family administer the test. For a

Q: What subjects are addressed in the tests?
A: The following subjects are addressed:

- Grade 2

- Grades 3–8
- Vocabulary, Reading, Spelling, Capitalization, Punctuation, Usage and Expression, Math Concepts and Estimation, Math Problem Solving and Data Interpretation, Math Computation, Social Studies, Science, Maps and Diagrams, Reference Materials
- Grades 9–12

Note: In most states, parents may choose to administer some or all of the subjects.
Q: What are the testing guidelines?
A: Observe the following guidelines:
- Only parents should order the tests for their children. The order should not be placed by the proctor.
- The tests may not be used for practice.
- All administration and test books must be returned at the end of the testing session.
- The test results will be mailed to the parents of the students, not to the proctor.
