The Ministry in Mongolia

Children from the Amgalan Children’s Shelter

Below is a summary of our current ministries in Mongolia.

Amgalan Children’s Shelter

This is our fourth year of teaching the children and teachers at Amgalan, a shelter for homeless children. These weekly character lessons provide an opportunity to minister Christ’s love unto “the least of these.”

Children’s Classes

Each week, we teach a character class specially designed for children. Stories, games, and activities make the lessons memorable while challenging the children to grow in character.

Schools

In the first few years of the Mongolia ministry, we taught character in several local schools. Now we offer classes to equip Mongolians to go out and teach character themselves.

Teacher Training Courses

Our vision is to train Mongolians to apply character in their personal lives and be able to effectively present these concepts to others. In these courses, students learn stories, activities, and teaching techniques to creatively teach character in the home, school, or workplace.

Saturday Character Classes

In the past four years, hundreds of parents, students, teachers, and children have attended our Saturday Character Classes. These one-hour lessons, open to anyone interested in learning about character, often lead to deeper discussions and opportunities to introduce our Mongolian friends to Jesus Christ, the Source of all true character.

Hospitality Ministry

One of our most valuable ministries has been investing in people’s lives by having them over for a meal. We often have guests (both expected and unexpected) and have been able to develop friendships with people from all walks of life. Our desire is to share Christ with those who are not believers and to encourage those who are involved in other Christian organizations in Mongolia.

Discipleship

The heartbeat of the Mongolia ministry is building relationships in order to help people reach their full potential in Christ. The time spent in personal discipleship brings rewards that will last for eternity.

Radio Station

At the beginning of 2004, a local radio station began airing daily programs highlighting specific character qualities. We meet regularly with the radio staff members to assist with the development of broadcasts designed to inspire listeners in learning about character and applying it in daily life.
