Q: Will I need to bring a computer?

A: No, a computer is provided for each student.

Q: What is the daily schedule?

A: The day begins with rising at 6 a.m. After personal preparation time, students join the Ritchie family at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast and discussion of what they have learned in their morning quiet times.

Following breakfast, students finish up last-minute projects before the class begins at 8. Classroom instruction continues until noon, when the DTP group breaks for lunch. At 1 p.m., class resumes. The afternoon usually includes a software training class or homework projects.

After dinner, which is held at 5:30 p.m., the evening is usually reserved for completing course assignments.

Q: What are the weekends like?

A: Saturdays are reserved for additional study, laundry, and other personal needs. On Sundays, students may attend church in the area with Training Center staff members. Afternoons provide time to rest, call home, or spend additional time with the Lord. To provide rest for the kitchen staff, one evening meal is provided, and students may attend an evening church service.

Q: Will I have a roommate?

A: Yes. Students room with 3 other DTP students. Often lasting friendships are developed through this time, and students stay in contact with their DTP classmates for years to come.

Q: Can students call home?

A: Yes. Phones are available on a limited basis in a hall off of the main lobby. Plan to bring a calling card or call collect.

Q: Is transportation available from the airport?

A: Yes. The ITC has a transportation department that coordinates the pickup of arrivals at the airport or bus stations.

Q: Can I check my e-mail while I am gone?

A: Students may receive e-mail at students@indy.iblp.org. Please be sure that correspondents put your name in the subject line of all messages.
