Meet the Instructor

Richard Ritchie has taught the desktop publishing courses for the past eight years and has a vision for discipling the young people who attend the Desktop Publishing Course. He serves at the Indianapolis Training Center along with his wife Trish and son Patrick.

“Growing up in a Christian home I came to know the Lord at the age of seven. As my parents reinforced Christian values in the home, I saw the love Christ had for me, and in return, I gave my life back to Him. After my high school graduation, I went to a Bible college and received a degree in Biblical Studies. It was during this time that the Lord gave me a heart for Biblical discipleship. The following summer, I was married and started raising a family.

“After being in the insurance business for sixteen years, the Lord moved me to take another position at a Christian school. Here, I had the opportunity to teach a wide variety of subjects, including a computer class. After two years of teaching at this school, I was told they wouldn’t have the funds to provide me with a job the following year. The sovereignty of God once again led in my life, and my family and I went to serve at the Indianapolis Training Center for a time. While serving there, they found out about my past ability of teaching with computers, and knowing that I was looking for a job, they asked if I would be interested in taking these courses. After taking these courses, and studying additional resources, I have had the privilege of teaching these courses for the past eight years.

Additional teaching assistants will conduct some of the afternoon courses and provide software tutorials.
