New Zealand Ministry
coaching troubled youth in another land
History of the Ministry
IBLP established its first contact with New Zealand in 1990, when a group of ATI students traveled there to meet with officials and to host a Basic Seminar. Shortly afterward, the Advanced Training Institute New Zealand was established to serve the officials and families of New Zealand. The Seminar ministry has continued since then, and staff members have hosted seminars in numerous New Zealand cities.
In October of 2000, a representative of New Zealand’s Ministry of Education
approached the Institute in Basic Life Principles, inviting them to become a provider of
alternative education for alienated youth.
This request instigated a program called Buildcom,
hosted at the Arahina Training Center. The nature of
Buildcom is one of discipleship. It is an integrated program incorporating plenty
of recreation, activity-based learning, and personalized tutoring.
Besides conducting the Buildcom program, staff members at the Arahina Training Centre also maintain their lovely grounds and buildings, serve the ATI families, and minister in the community.
