Ministry GuidelinesBack to Top

No soldier goes to the battle without the basic gear that will protect him against attacks of the enemy. For this reason, commitments in the following areas are essential for participation in this ministry.

Salvation

Confessing and believing that God gave Jesus Christ, His only Son, to die for the sins of man; that Jesus rose from the dead; and that He is now seated at God’s right hand. This area of commitment involves an assurance that, because I believe on Christ, He is my Savior and my Lord and has given me eternal life. (See Ephesians 1:19.)

Authority

Recognizing that God has placed authority structures over my life as “umbrellas” of protection, and submitting my will to Him by cheerfully placing myself under each of those authorities. (See Romans 13:1.)

Clear Conscience

Purposing to gain and keep a conscience void of offense toward God and others, and asking for forgiveness of each one whom I have wronged. (See I John 1:5–10.)

Modesty

Accepting God’s design for gender and His purpose in clothing, as well as dressing, speaking, and conducting myself to conform with God’s standards for modesty, in order to glorify Him. (See I Corinthians 3:16.)

Total Dedication

Fully committing myself to the Lord as a “living sacrifice,” and surrendering every area of my life to His control. (See Romans 12:1.)

Godly Music

Recognizing that music was created by God for the purpose of glorifying Him, and choosing my music in accordance with this principle. Music should inherently reflect God’s nature in its rhythm, words, and tone. (See Colossians 3:16.)

Courtship

Purposing to honor God and my authorities in my friendships, and guarding my thoughts, words, and actions in order to maintain personal purity. A heart commitment to courtship avoids defrauding actions, such as focusing attention on one individual, joking or jesting inappropriately, or making excuses to gain another’s attention. (See Luke 10:27.)

PrayerBack to Top

Devote yourself to daily, fervent prayer. Prayer is not preparation for the work; prayer is the work.

  • Ask God to cleanse and prepare you to be a clear channel through which He can work.
  • Begin to pray for each child with whom you will be working, that God would cause each one to be open to His Word.
  • Pray for families to be united, the hearts of fathers to be turned toward their children, and the hearts of children to be turned toward their fathers.
  • Pray against the principalities and powers over the city.
  • Pray for your team leader or team assistant, that you will be of one heart and mind.
